Cycling from historical Split to National park Mljet

Bike and Boat Dalmatian Islands tour starts and ends in Split exploring amazing coastlines, medieval towns, old villages and picturesque bays. Highlights include great beaches, vineyards, pine woods, cycling across the historic islands and exploring Mljet National Park. Croatia is a land of stunning islands, rich history, Mediterranean vegetation and a mild climate. Without a doubt, the best way to explore it is by bike.

Itinerary

Arrival in Split is scheduled from 11:00, with check-in available upon arrival. Departure at 13:00, followed by a welcome lunch served on board as you sail towards the island of Šolta.

After exploring the town and soaking in the views, cycle back to Rogač, where the ship will be waiting to continue the journey.

Please note: Depending on port and weather conditions, an alternative cycling route on Šolta may be taken: Stomorska – Gornje Selo – Maslinica – Stomorska. You then depart for Milna on Brač Island, where you spend the night. Overnight stay may alternatively be in Stari Grad, subject to port availability.

Early morning cruise from Milna to the town of Stari Grad, with breakfast served on board. From Stari Grad, embark on a scenic cycling tour through the Stari Grad Plain, a UNESCO World Heritage Site featuring preserved ancient Greek land divisions.

The route leads you to two charming towns — Jelsa and Vrboska — where you’ll enjoy breathtaking landscapes, fragrant lavender fields and panoramic views of nearby islands and the mainland.

In the afternoon, continue cycling toward the historic town of Hvar, renowned for its elegant architecture, lush surroundings and mild Mediterranean climate.

Upon arrival, enjoy free time to explore the town at your own pace.

Overnight in Hvar or Vela Luka on the island of Korčula, depending on port conditions.

Begin your day in Vela Luka and set off on a scenic cycling journey across the island of Korčula. Ride through lush vineyards, olive groves and quaint villages, taking in the island’s natural beauty and local charm as you make your way to the historic town of Korčula.

Stroll through narrow stone streets, visit local landmarks or simply relax and soak in the unique atmosphere. After a rewarding day of cycling and discovery the evening brings a well-deserved overnight stay in one of Korčula’s ports, depending on availability — either in the main town harbor, the port of Dominče, or the ferry port located approximately 3 km from the town center.

Enjoy a morning cruise from Korčula to the lush green island of Mljet, often referred to as the “Island of Honey.”

Upon arrival, visit the stunning Mljet National Park (entrance fee required for all guests)—a place of exceptional natural beauty. The park is renowned for its two interconnected saltwater lakes, dense Mediterranean vegetation, indented coastline, dramatic cliffs and a scattering of small islets. At the heart of the larger lake lies a small island home to a 12th-century Benedictine monastery, adding a historical charm to the serene setting.

Return to the ship for lunch on board, followed by a free afternoon to explore the park at your own pace—whether walking, swimming, or simply relaxing in nature. In the evening, enjoy a festive Captain’s Dinner on board (included in Premium  category). Overnight in Pomena or Polača, depending on port availability.

Today’s ride is a true highlight — the scenic panoramic wine route.
After breakfast, begin your cycling journey in Trstenik, riding through the picturesque vineyards that blanket the southern slopes of the Pelješac Peninsula. Ride across the famous Dingač tunnel, emerging into one of Croatia’s most celebrated wine regions, home to some of the country’s finest grape varieties.

As you continue, enjoy sweeping panoramic views of the surrounding vineyards and coastline. The route then leads you on a descent toward Orebić, a historic town known for its rich maritime heritage and tradition of sea captains. Along the way, soak in breathtaking vistas of the Korčula archipelago.

The final stretch includes a short climb followed by a descent to your destination in Kućište, where you’ll spend the night.

Enjoy breakfast on board during a morning cruise toward Hvar, Croatia’s longest island, offering stunning views of the Biokovo Mountain along the way.

Ride through charming landscapes, passing olive groves, stone villages, and enjoying panoramic coastal views.

The route includes a climb to the highest point of the day, followed by a rewarding descent into the peaceful bay of Pokrivenik, where the ship awaits your arrival. Lunch is served on board as you continue cruising toward Pučišća on the island of Brač — often described as one of the most beautiful small towns in Europe, known for its white limestone and artisan stone masonry.

Overnight in Pučišća.

Begin your day in Pučišća with a scenic cycling route that takes you through the charming landscapes of Brač Island.

Continue your journey to Supetar, the island’s largest town, known for its lovely beaches, historic churches and vibrant Mediterranean atmosphere. Take time to explore the town and perhaps enjoy a coffee by the waterfront. After your ride, return to the ship for lunch on board, followed by a relaxing cruise back to Split.

As you sail, unwind and reflect on the day’s adventure while taking in the stunning coastal views.

Overnight in Split.

An early breakfast, followed by check-out and farewell to the crew. Legend of abbreviations: B – breakfast, L – lunch, D – dinner, CD – captain's dinner

First Hand Experience

We had an amazing time exploring the Croatian Islands. The cycling was fantastic, giving us a wonderful overview of the islands along with stunning views. The islands themselves exceeded our expectations—absolutely beautiful. Accommodations were comfortable, and the boat was well maintained. The crew was outstanding, and the chef went above and beyond to create delicious, themed meals for the four vegans on board—truly impressive!

Our guides, Luka and Luka, were unforgettable. They were attentive on every ride, added in thoughtful stops and special sights, and kept us laughing with their hilarious Croatian lessons. Their sing-along on the final night was the perfect way to wrap up the trip—such fun and a wonderful ending to a memorable holiday.

Renato, Milan

We spent a magnificent week on board the Magellan. The cycling was very well organized, guided by three skilled and supportive leaders. The crew made our stay onboard a real pleasure—cabins were cleaned daily, and the cooks delighted us with surprises at every meal.

The booking process and follow-up were smooth and reliable, with no surprises along the way. All the information provided was accurate and clear, making the whole experience seamless from start to finish.
